Cleaning up our own bloody mess! Recent cuts from the Tory Government have hit vulnerable women hard! Shelters and domestic violence refuges have closed, Britain has fallen to 26th Place on the World Economic Forum's Gender Gap Index and Rape Crisis has announced a crisis! So, George Osborne's response is to offer us an olive branch and 'do us a favour' by announcing that women are going to pay for their own domestic violence and rape counselling through the tampon tax.This is great right! Oh so very very wrong! Not only have more than 30,000 people signed a petition asking for the tax to be abolished, which fell on ignorant ears, but it shouldn't even be attached in the first place! But what is worse, is that they now feel the need to justify it! It is patronising, and proves how outdated and ignorant the views of (a very male dominated) government are.
