Superdrug set to give back tampon tax in store card points!


Superdrug is set to give back £60,000 in points to its Health and Beauty card holders this year in donations.


Due to the luxury tax on sanitary products, women have to pay a hefty tampon tax to the Treasury.


The high street pharmacy has promised to give customers between 3 and 10 points on their loyalty cards, which works out as a penny a point to spend in store, every time they buy Superdrug's own brand of tampons and sanitary towels.


The Treasury takes £15 million a year in VAT from sanitary products. In the last spending review, the Chancellor George Osborne promised to give the VAT to women's charities.


We just think that this is 'Super' of the brand, and we really do hope other brands and companies follow suit.
